"Don't let these conmen anywhere near your property! We had an urgent requirement for roofing work (rain pouring in through the bedroom ceiling). We had contacted a number of local roofers (too much choice!) but non seemed to be interested. Some weeks previously I'd seen an advert for J and J Roofing on Facebook (I know, dangerous!) but I did a lot of research and noted many, at that time favourable, testimonies. Sent them a message...and heard nothing. Then, suddenly, weeks later, we got a call from Alex and I confirmed we still had an issue. Well the team descended on us like a wrecking ball - at night, in the dark and confirmed they'd start work the following morning which, surprisingly they did. The only mention of cost was that it would likely be around £20- £25K dependant on what they found - this after they'd started removing roof tiles. To cut a long story short they charged us, and took, £42K - this for a mid terraced house! Whilst the small team appeared to be doing a good job we were constantly bombarded (somewhat aggressively) via phone and face to face by Alex and Michael for more and more payments. They constantly assured us that receipts would be supplied and a fully detailed invoice given along with a 15 years guarantee of work ONCE THE JOB WAS COMPLETED! The work was finished (?) just before Christmas following final payment which, they insisted, was made to two separate bank accounts - different to that which payments had been made previously (more alarm bells!) We were assured the promised documentation would be delivered as they came to collect surplus timber that had been left in our garden. THEN we got a call saying they couldn't come as the van had broken down outside Preston! Since then we've heard nothing. All our phone calls and messages have gone unanswered. Have we got a new roof? Yes! Is rain still leaking into the bedroom? No! But, were we stupid and gullible in going along with their aggressive sales pitch and false promises? Of course, it has cost us our sanity AND OUR LIFE SAVINGS! We WILL be pursuing the matter with the Report Fraud office, Citizens Advice and Trading Standards but I somehow doubt we'll ever get to enjoy our retirement now our savings have been decimated. I truly regret making that initial phone call and warn anyone considering employing these crooks to think again! "

"Absolute disgrace of a company avoid at all cost ended up emotionally and financially broken because of being pressurised into paying massively overinflated price which the man only started upping once the roof was removed and the rain was poring in.."

"Quoted £8500 for a 2 bed terraced roof for the man Mike to keep upping it to a whopping £32k using intimidation and pressure. Preyed on a vulnerable woman and made sure to find out she was on her own. Whenever customer had someone with her Mike was never to be seen. I have tried to make contact with the company but it’s impossible via phone number, txt, online forms and Facebook. Quick enough to get in touch when they want money!! Very unprofessional, massively inflated the prices. AVOID AVOID AVOID"
